There was a massive, sudden blow up of the power station in Eldorado Park on Sunday morning which has caused a power outage in the community. Community members have had to live without electricity for 7 days as City Power attempts to restore the power station as a whole. While it is unclear what caused the explosion community leaders have made allegations that this may be an attempt to sabotage the newly elected Patriotic Alliance who has taken over running Eldorado Park. Residents have grown weary of the situation and have taken matters into their own hands by protesting. These protests have caused unrest within the community as community members feel let down by community leaders and feel like the electricity issue should have been resolved at a faster rate.   South African star shines at International Dance Competition In Ireland Aphile Didie 31 August 2023, Johannesburg   -   Nine year old dancer Kacey Veldman from a township Eldorado Park in the south of Johannesburg represented South Africa at the World Lyrical Dance Federation in Dublin, Ireland. Showcasing her dance abilities on the international stage, Kacey Veldman won six bronze medals and a silver trophy, ultimately taking second place position in the overall competition. The four day event witnessed performances from participants representing various countries world wide including The USA, Ghana, and Nigeria .
